PPO's (Preferred Provider Organizations), are affiliations of physicians, hospitals and other healthcare providers, who form a network to assist self-insured businesses in tailoring health plans to meet the unique needs of their employees. Volusia Health Network negotiates discounted rates with top-quality physicians and passes the savings on to employers and their employees. Unlike an HMO, you or your employees may visit any physician in the network, without first getting a referral from a primary care physician.

EPO's (Exclusive Provider Organizations) work the same way as PPO's, however with a greater discount on healthcare services.
