Volusia Health Network offers a comprehensive Utilization Management Program including the following services: pre-certification, concurrent and retrospective review, second surgical opinion, case management and discharge planning. The program is overseen by a locally based Board Certified Medical Director and Associate Medical Director. They work closely with a team of highly qualified nurses especially trained in the field of Utilization Management. We currently provide Utilization Management/Pre-Certification Services to the following employers: |

| Volusia Health Network works closely with each employer to design a Utilization Management Plan that precisely meets the specific attributes of the employer's health plan. Although pre-certification is required for all elective and urgent admissions, and all outpatient surgical procedures performed in a hospital or ambulatory surgical center, the requirements for each plan varies by employer. | Emergency admissions require certification within 24 hours or the next business day. All non-emergency surgeries require pre-certification from Volusia Health Network at least 10 days prior to obtaining services. Volusia Health Network may require a second surgical opinion on certain surgical procedures. |
